Kevin and I met in 2017 at the University of Tennessee. Go Vols. We stayed in contact over the years but didn’t really communicate outside of a daily snapchat and a “Go Caps” text whenever they were playing the sharks. During the 2020 Covid Pandemic, Kevin and I started facetiming allllll dayyyyy loooooong. We would binge watch shows on Netflix (that he’d already seen) and he would come along when I was completing my doordash orders as an excuse to leave the house. My family got to know him as secondhand facetime because he was always on my screen, whether they were aware of his presence or not. In July of 2020, I took a trip out to Maryland. While we were still friends when I left, Kev was a man on a mission. I was living in California at the time and did not want to date long distance. We continued our facetime dates, he continued to tell me how he felt and at this point I realized we were more than just friends.
I planned a trip back out to Maryland in October of 2020 to scope out some job opportunities and see if I could confidently move coast to coast. Safe to say I fell in love, and not just with the East Coast. I invited Kevin to my family Thanksgiving of 2020. This time when we parted ways, he was leaving as my boyfriend.
As God’s planned allowed, I accepted a job offer in Baltimore, Maryland and moved in February of 2021. The rest is history …
Peyt and I met back in 2017 in Knoxville, TN while I was visiting a friend. We instantly became good friends that kept in contact all the way up until 2020 when the world shut down due to Covid. In 2020, Peyt and I made the most of the pandemic by facetiming every day (sorry Allen family) and binge watching every popular show even if I had already seen it before. I can honestly say now that I didn't care about the shows too much but I just liked talking with her and listening to that famous laugh. About 2 months into our daily facetimes, I had a feeling she was going to be a Daly one day. I was taken away by her beauty, her passion for everything she does, and the way she cheers for her sports teams.
But then came the hard part. In what world would she show interest in a guy who lives 2,500+ miles away, has never traveled internationally, and definitely doesn't have a skin care routine or any sense of style. She agreed to come visit some friends and I in Maryland in October of 2020, and I couldn't have been more excited. I wasn't sure if I would be the best tour guide of Baltimore and D.C. but I tried my best to sell this random state of Maryland to this West Coast/ Southern gal. I was soon after named "the worst tour guide ever". After asking her to be my girlfriend multiple times that trip, I was rejected based on the long distance issue (or the lack of hygiene). But, a month later, she asked me to come out to California to see what a real tour guide looks like. I nervously packed my bags and hopped on the cheapest Frontier Airlines flight out to Reno, NV that I could find. She first showed me the famous Lake Tahoe, CA and right away I deemed myself mayor of the city. She then took me to Granite Bay, CA where she lived and I got to meet all the people I knew over "second hand facetime" in person. As we headed to the airport, I figured I would ask one more time if she would be my girlfriend.
Lets just say she now lives in Maryland, we own a house together, I got a diamond on her finger, and I still don't have a skincare routine. Not bad for a guy like me. I have never been more sure of something in my entire life and I cannot wait to share our special day with our loved ones in Lake Tahoe, CA on 5/30/25.
To you Peyton Quinn,
Kev
